Fitting room post compilation

Happy Weekend everybody!

I had a great weekend visiting London a couple of weeks ago and meeting with some of my favourite plus size bloggers Big Fat Betty and Sarah from Sarah is smiley. Don't forget to check out their really cool blogs.

We met for a coffee at the Starbucks inside the New look Store in Picadilly Circus and of course I got lost and I walked all the way to the Marble Arch New Look store to find out that was the wrong store and had to walk all the way back.
Well, once I arrived, we had a quick drink and went straight into the shopping area. I tried lots of things (I have to put the pictures together of the outfits that didn't fit or look that will be another post).
I am such a bargain hunter so most of the stuff was from the sale...let me know what do you think and if you are tall enough get that gorgeous maxi skirt!

- Lucky top from the New Look Inspire range (bargain at £4 sale price)
- I love the floral maxi skirt (current collection £19.99), unfortunately was far too long, I was moaning for an hour about why wasn't available in petite size (I am 5'2)
- The Purple peplum top, another bargain from the Inspire range at £4, I have worn it twice already such a good buy!

- Aztec dress from New Look Inspire, current collection at £16.99, I tried a size 20 and it was perfect. It is a bodycon dress so I probably need some good shapewear under to hide my sins.
- Cheeky jumper, £6 on the sale, it is very oversize, I have worn it every Sunday since then and I love it, so comfy.

- Cartoon/ polkadot bodycon dress from Primark £10 size Uk20. It is very snugly fittings but again the magic of a good shapewear makes me feel comfortable wearing it.

I also bought a beautiful summer strapless maxidress in Primark that if the weather allows me would be wearing very soon.

Thanks for reading my lovelies and thanks to the great Betty for introducing me in the world of New Look as I had never bought anything before from them.

Enjoy the weekend,

OOTD and first shopping experience with Yours

Ladies and gents...
I am really trying hard to carry on with my blogging. I enjoy writing and I get lots of ideas during the day, but at the moment I am struggling with TIME!
I am doing a Social Media Management course in the evenings, plus work plus keeping the house more or less decent means I hardly have time for blogging or even worse whenever I take some outfit picture I feel like having to cut my head out of them because I look terrible, no make up, hair is a disaster, etc.

Anyway trying my best, here is my outfit of the day post reviewing my first shop experience with Yours a plus size fashion online retailer.

I am very loyal to my brands but I thought 'I need to expand my horizons'. I still have to try 'Simply Be' which seems very popular between bloggers, Marisota or any of the american online shops like Domino Dollhouse.

One of my fellow fatshionista bloggers was telling me that 'Yours' has a very good fit and the prices were ok, with dresses in offer for £19 the quality price was well-balanced.
No need to say I went online straight away to have a look.
My first impression was, it's a bit 'old' for me but as they say never judge a book by its cover. After browsing for a few minutes I found some pieces I couldn't resist buying.
Here are my picks, and you'll find the prices, links, sizing advice and myself modelling some of the pieces below when you scroll down ;-)

1. Black asymmetrical hem vest with beaded detail. £15, excellent sizing, went for a size 18 and you can see below how it fits me. I really enjoy wearing this top, I am not a fan of long tops because I think they make me look bigger but as this is not clingy feels right.
2. Full length stretch indigo jeggings with zip and button fastening to front. As you can read in the item description it says they come up a bit small. I sized up and went for the 22-24 and really good fit, I have wore them lots of times already and they haven't lost fit that much, I could probably fit in the size down but I am glad I didn't risk it. You can see me wearing them in the pics below.

3. Purple printed sleeveless dress with knot front detail. £19, I love this dress, it's a jersey fabric and I went for size 20. The fit is very good and I feel sexy when I wear it (my birthday day), it has a nice cleavage. The only thing that doesn't convince me 100% it's the length,  it is a bit too long for me but I'm only 5'2. I will be reviewing the dress in a separate post.
 4. Stretched jersey jeggings with pockets to front and back, bargain at £12 right now (normally £22). The fit of those is amazing, I went for the size 20-22 as 16-18 would be too small, and they are perfect a bit in the big side, ideally a 18-20 will fit the best. They are stretchy but have zip and button meaning the don't roll down my knees and you cal always put a belt on if they are big in the waist.

Horizontal stripes so what?!

Here we are again,
this time with one of my Primark best finds, the cream and navy stripes maxi dress.
I saw this in the hanger and I thought 'it is going to look awful on me', because it has horizontal stripes (I could hear my grandma screaming at me: 'Don't do it, fat people can not wear horizontal stripes') and also because it's a maxi which at 5'2 it's normally far too long.
Anyway, I thought let's try it, what can you loose? So I did. And I love it, it is floaty, it has a bit of sleeve, a bit of elastic waist, the fabric has a very nice texture and with a price tag of £13 it was a winner for me.

I was with my friend, and even though I felt insecure for a second she reassure me that it looks good on me.
Since I bought it a few weeks ago I have already worn it lots of times, and I can see it being one of my wardrobe staples for this spring/summer.
I have added a brown wide belt, it comes with a thin one (see picture 1), and then some comfy red flats or brown leather sandals I have from last summer.
What do you think?!

I forgot to say that the dress is available up to size 20, the one I am wearing is size 18, I will say it is bigger than a usual size 18 and it definitely needs a belt otherwise it looks a bit like a tent. The only criticism is the sleeves are a bit smaller, but my arms are bigger and not in proportion to the rest of my body so...
